It’s already Q2, and JP continues to dig up founders in and around Tempe that are on a break-neck track to building great companies. Without further-ado, let’s dive into 2’s cohort; congrats to all of you!
Manny Comminsky, Co-Founder at Sunbound Homes
This guy is an outright machine. Manny hails from Harvard, then spent some time at Goldman Sachs & other firms doing the whole PE thing, then said, “it’s time to get into tech and build something real”, and here we are today. You won’t find him anywhere besides the airport, The Phoenician, frantically company-building, or rapping with founders. Sunbound is allowing people >70 to seamlessly find, secure and move to their new home, also sell their old home, and let Sunbound handle all the details in between. While they’re still under wraps, they recently closed a pre-seed round from some top tier VC firms to begin building. More on them as they come out of the woodworks!
Max Bregman, Co-Founder in Stealth
Ah, yes; another young, fiercely brilliant machine. Max was another fellow young hustler in the arbitrage game, buying and selling product > $17k early on. He finished in the top tier of his class in high school and was named a Flinn Scholar. Today, Max is at ASU (for now…), interning at Culdesac, and working on his own startup with ground-breaking technology in the clean-tech/EV charging space. He also just applied to the 776 Fellowship by Alexis Ohanian. Excited for what’s to come from Max & co!
Justin Kuehn, Founding Team at Triangle
This guy knows how to make money. Plain & simple. Justin previously founded a successful digital marketing agency while at ASU, as well as WalkOnSports, a sports educational platform where users can take their games to the next level using advanced motion capture technology from the best athletes in the world (not to mention he was a nationally ranked athlete). Today, he’s spearheading operation at Triangle, a startup that’s bootstrapped well >7 figures. Triangle leverages their self tour technology to provide high end products with premium self-tour experiences, showing coordination, and smart property management. Major league things to come from this founder!
Andy Le & Ping Hsu, Co-Founders in Stealth
Both recent U of A grads, this is a founder match made in heaven of highly talented hackers/builders. They’re currently building a new layer of infra that’s still under wraps for web3, but just won over their first angel check from SF. Keep an eye on these 2 as they continue to sprint forward.
Mani Kandan, Co-Founder at Morality
Mani (pronounced money $) is exactly that; money. He’s a hyper-focused, incredibly talented engineer. Previously, Morality was out to build legal-tech to make internal processes for law firms much simpler, but found that CAC and closing time for customers was simply too long. Now, they’re pivoting and testing the market in different buckets that they’re keeping under wraps. Very intrigued for what’s to come for he and the team, so stay tuned.
Final Words
It warms my heart to see so many talented people building in and around Tempe. This place is on fire and nobody knows it. So much steak, but not much sizzle (yet… just wait, Miami…). If you think you’re a fit for JamPad, apply here. We’re scouting 25/8 for the best makers in our valley. With that, welcome to JP to all you inducted above, and now, it’s back to building.
